What are PRINTABLES ? How Do You Use CANVA?

Hi guys…sorry for not posting on Thursday but I was busy designing and organising my e-course that I mentioned. I should be launching it soon….but in the meantime….. you know me, when I start or get into something new I get distracted away from my normal watercolour painting and I get carried away with the new thing in town. Whats the new distraction? PRINTABLES….yes people I am into printables now. First of all they are sooooo much fun to create in Canva and I am trying to monetise my sites as this, I read is the way to go.

Be the FIRST to buy your own PRINTABLE – Things to Do Sheet

This is a digitally designed grocery list covering all the products you need for your home. Why think about it and forget an item when you have a list that thinks of it for you. So get yours now and make grocery shopping easy.

I started with Planners, then moved to Wall Art then Posters. Yes….as usual I got a bit carried away. But as with everything I do I learned that I enjoy creating anything artistic and PRINTABLES fall into that category. So what are Printables? They are for example, pages decoratively and digitally created that you can download then print. They can be created to be printed on normal letter size pages, which are normally 8.5ins X 11ins.

This means when you buy a digital download, you can download it onto your computer then print as many as you want on your printer. They can be Wall Art with quotes that you print then place in an inexpensive frame or they can be calendar pages nicely decorated that you print from your printer and you use them to do all your planning of your activities.

The planners can also have sheets already laid out to make scheduling easy. You can get printable grocery lists that you can print a few so that every time you go to the grocery instead of trying to remember what you have to buy, you tick off on your printable grocery list. Keep it in your car or purse so when you do arrive at the grocery you have your list and you can keep it for the next grocery store visit or do a new list.

There are PRINTABLE To Do Lists, Grocery Lists, Budget Sheets, Wedding Planning Sheets, Journals, Games and much more. I have to say that since I created my printables only one person has taken my freebie planner. I hope they liked it. I will create some more freebie planners as the Planners that take a lot more effort to create I charge $2-3 dollars.

You can create these printables easily on Canva or Picmonkey. I haven’t tried pic monkey as there is a fee but Canva is free unless you want to do more complex designs, which I don’t need. Sign up for Canva and you can pick the size or dimensions of the item you want to create via the button on the top right side of the site.

The choices are inches, Pixels, Centimetres etc. Stick to inches or in the middle of the site they show you examples of different items, like cards, posters, etc and you simply click on one and it brings up a blank version of that item with designs to choose from on the left side. Easy peasy. OK… this is what you do to use Canva:

  1. Log into Canva and Set up an Account.

As you see, on the site you can choose what it is you want to create. Simply pick whether you want to do a Poster, a 8.5x11inch Printable, which is a size A4 Document or cards or an Instagram Ad. You choose. Once you choose then a blank version comes up.

2. Open Canva and Choose the Document you want to Design.

After Choosing the document you want to create, a blank version appears, now comes the time to create. On the left are some Poster Templates because I chose to create a Poster.

3. Start Designing Your Document.

After picking a template, for example, a poster, then choose a text and put in your own words. Or you can delete the text already there by clicking on the little trash can on the top right side of the page. Or you can block the text already there and type in new words.

4. Change the Text or Add Graphics to the Template’s design.

Click on the T on the left. It stands for Text. Different styles of text will come up. Choose the style text you want, click on it and it will appear on the template you chose. Click within the text box and block the words and type what you want to say. You can also simply hover the cursor on the text already there, click, it will be outlined, then click on the little trash can on the right to delete the text, so you can replace it with your own. Once the cursor is over the text you can move it around as you see fit.

4. Change Your Text

It’s a very simple app to use and so convenient. I love it and I create all my artwork and covers etc on Canva.

Hi, I'm a mother of four, one boy and three girls ranging in ages from 26yrs to 22yrs. I own my own business that I run with my husband and we have no pets. We've had a variety of pets from dogs, cats fish etc, but things go wrong when we have pets so we decided that we are not pet people. I'm a creative person and I love to learn and share what I learn. Watercolour painting is my great love. I dream of having my art appreciated and hung on the walls of homes, offices, churches, anywhere that people can view them and start up a conversation about them. So that's a little about me, come peruse more of my site and ENJOY!!!
