Health & Wellness – Take Care of yourself!

Hi guys…today I’m going to be short because last week was crazy and not crazy in a good way but crazy in a health way. What do I mean? Well to start off I got up Monday morning with the room spinning. I couldn’t move without getting extremely dizzy. what the heck is that!!!! No guys…I didn’t panic and in fact i wasn’t even worried, I just wasn’t feeling well so my mind was mainly on what can I do to get this awful feeling to go away. Well it didn’t. I stayed like that for the entire day but it did start to abate when I ate and rested. So what the heck happened? i figured it out because I rested for 2 days then went to the doctor on the 3rd day. What I deducted was that when I’m painting…I tend to get lost in a zone and I forget to eat…..yes or I end up eating very late. After going this 3 days straight my blood sugar dropped…Oh and I’m anaemic and hypoglycaemic.

The doctor basically said that my blood pressure was a bit low…for me anyways as it was always normal. I needed to eat on time and get some salt into my blood stream. After the 3 days I felt better, not 100% but no longer dizzy…I simply felt as if the dizziness was waiting in the background to show itself…I’m sure some of you know what I’m talking about. What all of thi said to me was, I neede to get back on that exercise threadmill. I don’t know if I mentioned but I normally a strong advocate for exercise and proper eating. I normally do that myself. I even have one of 2 blog posts on some great exercises you can do to stay fit as well as some wellness tips.

It isn’t that I don’t follow my own advice, I do but I was a bit burnt out from exercising….to state it flatly I was fed up!!! So I decided to take a break from the constant getting up at 5am in the morning to go to the gym for an hour of exercise, bath and change there for work, have breakfast then off to my coaching sessions. I found by the afternoon I was kinda sleepy, so exercising in the morning is great but for me I get tired and only want to go home and rest. The in the afternoons I went walking up a steep hilly area for one hour then I would go home and have dinner. I did this for a few months every day or other day…that’s why i got fed up!

I suddenly didn’t have the mental energy or fortitude to exercise or to even want to exercise, so I didn’t. The effect? I started to put on weight, not much but I git lazy, not sluggish…..I still had energy, I wasn’t sleepy in the afternoons for my sessions but my body ached unnecessarily in places and then the whole hypoglycaemic episode happened. One thing i’ve observed from looking at my mom who is 79 years old. You need to keep active, She walks everyday, she was a bit bent over and had bad aches, had high blood pressure and diabetes, but after taking Mango Leaf tea for one year her high blood pressure went away and she no longer had to take medication for that. Her body aches went away and she no longer walked stooped over and her diabetes has decreased so she only needs to take half of her medication. Conclusion?…..I’m starting Mango leaf tea, going back to my 3 times a week walking and making sure I eat on time.

I’m sharing all of this to remind each and everyone, that time is precious and lately people have been dying unexpectedly. e have to take care of ourselves, life is short, enjoy the things you want to enjoy, but take care of yourselves by eating properly, healthily and exercising. you only ned to walk for 30 minutes a day and that is good enough. Keep the heart pumping and don’t get lazy. I especially love to walk outdoors, even if it’s raining heavily as it is these days.

It’s easy to find healthy foods to include on a weight loss diet. These are mainly whole foods like fish, lean meat, vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds and legumes. Several processed foods, such as probiotic yogurt, extra-virgin olive oil and oatmeal are also excellent choices.
